            高耐熱性能熱作模具鋼碳含量不高,但合金元素含量高,多數模具鋼的合金元素的質量分數為8﹪~10﹪,有的達11%,這類鋼有高的耐熱性,即高的高溫強度和高溫硬度,可以在600~700℃的高溫下工作,同時具有高的耐熱性,淬透性好,有強烈的二次硬化效果,好的回火抗力,較高的抗疲勞性和斷裂韌度。高耐熱性鋼適用于要求高耐熱性、耐磨性、韌性要求較低、形狀不太復雜的模具。

            主要用于制造壓力機鐓鍛模,擠壓機上加工高強鋼、不銹鋼、鈦合金、耐熱合金等尺寸小于150mm的模具、壓鑄模以及較高工作溫度(600~690℃)、高磨損條件下工作的熱作模具。

            傳統的熱作模具鋼3Cr2W8V鋼具有以上特性,能在600~650℃條件下長期服役,因此廣泛應用于高耐熱熱作模具。但是該鋼如果冶煉不當、鑄錠較大、鑄模溫度過高及鋼液過熱時,3Cr2W8V鋼錠中的元素偏析特別嚴重,共晶碳化物的數量會增多,因此造成模具脆裂報廢的事故時有發生。而且高鎢鋼有脫碳傾向,這是模具磨損快、粘模嚴重、表面早期出現熱疲勞裂紋的原因之一。

            為解決此類問題,國內研發了一些新的鋼種:如HD鋼和Y系列鋼。

            HD(4Cr3Mo2NiVNb)鋼是為了適應700℃左右工作溫度而研制的新型高耐熱性鋼。HD鋼是在4Cr3Mo3V鋼的基礎上,適當降低Mo、V的含量,加入質量分數為wNi=1﹪、wNb=0.15﹪,提高了鋼的高溫韌性及熱穩定性,在700℃仍可以保持40HRC的硬度。在硬度相同的情況下,HD鋼比3Cr2W8V鋼的斷裂韌度高50﹪,700℃高溫時抗拉強度高70﹪,冷熱疲勞抗力和熱磨損性能分別高出1倍和5﹪,用其制作的熱擠壓模具使用壽命也高于3Cr2W8V鋼。
            Hd (4Cr3Mo2NiVNb) steel is a new type of high heat resistance steel developed to adapt to the working temperature of about 700 ℃. The cold and hot fatigue resistance and hot wear resistance of HD steel are 1 times and 5% higher than that of 3Cr2W8V steel, respectively. The service life of hot extrusion die made of HD steel is also higher than that of 3Cr2W8V steel.
            Y系列模具鋼是針對壓鑄模特點結合我國礦產資源而研制的新鋼種。Y10(4Cr5Mo2MnVSi)鋼淬透性好,主要用于鋁合金壓鑄模。與Y10鋼相比,Y4(4Cr3Mo2MnVNbB)鋼中的Cr、Si含量下降了,碳化物不均勻性下降,同時以硼來提高淬透性和熱強性,加入微量鈮可提高M6C和MC型碳化物的穩定性,因此能細化晶粒,降低過熱敏感性,提高熱強性和熱穩定性,可用于熔液溫度為880~960℃的銅合金熱壓鑄模。Y系列鋼用于壓鑄模上,其使用壽命較3Cr2W8V鋼有很大提高。
